![]() ![]() The stereo reverb is the real trick though. Their clarity is amazing even without EQ but the insane treble spikes can take your head off without it. Once you do apply corrective EQ their clarity is absolutely incredible. I love my DT1990 Pros but if you don't EQ them then you're in for a BAD time, especially with monitoring guitar. I EQ all of my headphones but the HD650, 6XX, and 58X need less EQ than a lot of other headphones, which is one of the reasons I recommend them so often. The best place to find good EQ correction settings for headphone models is here: Even the best headphones on the planet need EQ correction to get anywhere near as flat as even semi-cheap studio monitors. I gravitate toward a 121 about 3.5" off the cab. All stock cabs with the mic of your choice. This works very well with my Sennheiser 598 and even better with my Blue Mo-fi. Level is always fluctuating for me depending on how "in the room" I feel like I want it.
